At Secrest Family Chiropractic, we have seen many patients who are suffering from the signs of whiplash, as the result of an auto accident injury or had some type of sudden impact injury. Our chiropractor treats patients from the Scottsdale, Mesa, and Tempe areas who need pain management plans. TMJ (temporomandibular joint disease), back pain, and neck pain are some of the conditions we treat most often, and we have developed specific therapies for these injuries. Whiplash can present itself in several ways and we have several signs to watch for after an auto accident.
Neck pain may be the first sign of whiplash after an accident. Whiplash is often associated with neck pain since the accident or impact often causes the neck to literally whip forward and back with a great deal of force. This can cause major strain to the soft tissues in the neck and will often start to cause pain within a day or two after an accident.
Another sign of whiplash is back pain. Back pain may develop immediately after an accident or impact or may take some time to begin, but it, like neck pain, is a result of the sudden jarring movements that the body was forced to make upon impact. Neck pain and back pain are frequently seen at the same time, but may also exist independently of each other.
TMJ may be another sign of whiplash. Scottsdale Chiropractor often sees cases of whiplash induced TMJ. TMJ often causes patients to have soreness of the jaw area, pain deep in the ears, dizziness, and pressure behind the eyes.
All of these signs of whiplash should be taken seriously and discussed with our chiropractor as soon as possible. We at Secrest Family Chiropractic have a professionally trained staff here at the office who are ready to help patients with whiplash and its related problems. With our methods of natural treatments that eliminate the injury where it started, patients can get back to normal and defeat whiplash pain as soon as possible.
