Meet: Dr. Daniel P. Secrest, DC
“I want to be your Chiropractor.“
Dr. Secrest is a practicing chiropractic physician in South Scottsdale and was the first certified healthcare professional in the Phoenix-Scottsdale metropolitan area to offer a unique combination of advanced technological treatments in a standing, sitting, walking or bending “Position of Pain.” The former radio talk host of his own health show, “House Calls with Dr. Secrest” on Phoenix station KFNX, Dr. Dan has also appeared on Channel 3, KTVK, “Good Evening Arizona,” other radio shows and wrote a health column for the Scottsdale Downtowner.
Dr. Dan is a firm believer in a multi-disciplined approach to healthcare. When conducting examinations and reviewing patient’s x-rays for structual conditions that can be addressed by chiropractic, he is also vigilant to observing abnormalities that may be better addressed by a medical physician or other holistic healthcare provider. To assist his patients, he maintains a list of preferred providers, with whom he has had personal or professional experience.
In addition to maintaining a full practice here in Scottsdale, Dr. Secrest currently mentors other doctors across the nation in the use and application of an enhanced, Low-Force, Applied Kinesiology Based Technique, called Koren Specific Technique (KST).
Dr. Secrest received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University and Bachelor Degree from Long Island University. After participating in a charitable chiropractic mission in Peru, he practiced in Queensland, Australia before founding Secrest Family Chiropractic, PC in 2002. He is a Reiki Master and also proficient in many other energy, calming and stress relieving techniques.
An advocate of the holistic approach to health care, Dr. Secrest has developed a reputation for combining unique and advanced protocols, in a clinical setting, to provide support for patients with learning challenges, such as ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, autism and by-polar. He also treats patients suffering from various chronic conditions, such as TMJ, headaches & migraines, neck & back pain, fibromyalgia, menopause, cramping, and joint pain in the hips, knees, feet, shoulders, elbows and wrists. Knowing that many patients with chronic conditions have difficulty in properly exercising, Dr. Secrest developed the 90-Second Armchair Workout, as a clinical adjunct to a new breathing protocol, Zou Hypoxicology Technique (ZHT), for sleep apnea and acute snoring, depression and many other breathing disorders. Many patients report first night relief and greater next-day energy levels as a result of this modality. They continue to experience sustained relief with minimal breathing exercises, done in the privacy of their homes.
Dr. Dan is also proficient in the Graston Technique, primarily a sports-therapy modality, for the treatment of post-operative scar tissue, rotator cuff, carpal tunnel, tendonitis, stress knots, and sports-related extremity injuries, such as pulled hamstring, tennis and golf elbow, frozen shoulder, knee pain, ankle and foot inflammation. A soccer player himself, Dr. Dan knows the value of maintaining a fit body, to perform at your full potential. Posture correction is one of Dr. Dan’s major goals for his patients, who are injured in a motor vehicle, work or home accident. His touch and manner are gentle enough for babies and pregnant moms, yet firm enough for construction workers, professional athletes, working Dads and retired Grandads.
